The VA in Iowa City invited VFP 161 to take part in the inaugural raising of a Pride Flag the morning of Thursday, June 8 in honor of LGBTQ+ veterans.
Our role is to attach and raise the flag. We arrived at 8:30 AM and assemble for a brief rehearsal. The event itself started at 9:15 AM at the flagpoles in front of the VA Hospital.
